When the time came, most of them made it back. Some were too far to make it in time, some were too busy which meant that they cared deeply but not as deeply as others, and some still felt out of place even amongst those closest to them. They came for grief, others from love, or at least respect, and some for solace. Comfort grows in one when it is given to others, making it selfish and selfless. All but one were selfish now. She felt an abiding gratitude that some might call surrender. She breathed her last and departed.
